University of Florida Levin College of Law

The University of Florida is one of the top public universities in the country and boasts the eighth largest single campus. With more than 120 undergraduate degree offerings, 200 graduate degrees and five professional schools, few other universities can rival UF’s academic opportunities. Encompassing more than 2,000 acres, the UF campus has a blend of modern as well as renovated historic buildings, 19 of which are on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Here are some of our students’ favorite places.

The mission of the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law is to achieve excellence in educating professionals, advancing legal scholarship, serving the public and fostering justice. We aspire to prepare lawyers to serve their clients, the justice system and the public with a high level of accomplishment and a commitment to the highest ideals of the legal profession. We strive to provide students with a well-rounded legal education. Our curriculum is designed to teach students about the law and to help them develop the skills necessary to use that knowledge in practice. Our goal is for our graduates to possess the core competencies essential to embark on the practice of law. These core competencies include:

Programmes

University of Florida Law offers five different degrees, including the nation’s first S.J.D. in taxation. The degrees range from the well-known J.D. to post-J.D. degrees, which offers students the ability to customize their law school experience.

Juris Doctor

The three-year Juris Doctor curriculum is designed to develop students’ analytical ability, practical knowledge, communications skills and an understanding of the codes of responsibility and ethics that are central to the practice of law.

LL.M. in U.S. Law: Designed for International Lawyers

The LL.M. in U.S. Law Program is designed almost exclusively for graduates of foreign law schools who want to enhance their understanding of the legal system of the United States of America and the English common law system from which it evolved.
